Living by Principles

Principles are a set of laid out rules that serve as a guide for a particular reasoning and actions, as well as to certain behavioral patterns. Wikipedia defines it as “a proposition or value that is a guide for behavior or evaluation. In law, it is a rule that has to be or usually is to be followed. It can be desirably followed, or it can be an inevitable consequence of something, such as the laws observed in nature or the way that a system is constructed.” The above clearly implies well selected guidelines, typically being upheld by an individual religiously during his or her course of living.

Living by principles could be otherwise directly translated as living by the book. Many people who live by principles are usually seen by society asstaunch, rigid, disciplined, boring and all kinds of names. This is as a result of their 99% near regimented lifestyles. Yet, most of these sets are known for their high level of accountability and discipline within closed and open doors. They mostly take full responsibility for their actions and in actions. Living by principles tells the distinct story of who you are.  It feeds ones emotional, intellectual needs and even spiritual needs.

Living by principles, is a bit difficult and challenging than it sounds. It involves a high level of self coaching and schooling, it involves a high level of sacrifice. These sacrifices may be abstract and tangible- in terms of resources, in other to stay within ones set principles. The most successful principled lives are most usually not those regimented by the laws of their nation, state or coperate bodies, but that which is outlined by the individual willingly with targets as rewards.

This type of lifestyles have a number of pros and cons. Let’s begin with their pros, the pros of living by principles include the following :

Cons of living by principles:

-It halts you from thinking out of the box

-Permits only very few Friends

-Highly reduces social life

-Most usually ruins relationships

Living by principles can be done flexibly and controlled to achieve the best desired results if a person understands how to strike a fine balance without permitting extremities in either of the options.
